HH Sayyida Basma Bint Fakhri Al Said Of Oman is a visionary agent of change who has tirelessly championed the modernization of mental health in the Sultanate of Oman and has become an icon for reform across the GCC. She has been recognized by many awards and honors for her work in the field of mental health. She founded “Whispers of Serenity” the first clinic of its kind in Oman to provide a holistic range of psychotherapy services to men, women and children suffering from mental illness. She is also a passionate advocate for victims of child abuse and has done much work in this field. As indeed, her previous role as a member of the Committee for child abuse at the Sultan Qaboos University, Oman Hospital attests.
