On 20th January, 2022 the European Women’s Association (EWA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) aimed at strengthening business relationships, developing mutual cooperation, and promoting investment opportunities available on both sides.
The EWA delegation visited the SCCI headquarters to learn about the advantages of investment in Sharjah in various economic sectors. The MoU was signed by Yulia Stark, President of the European Women’s Association, and Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI with officials from the chamber and 45 EWA female entrepreneurs in attendance.
The signed MoU states that the two sides will:
- exchange trade delegations and discussions in the fields of export and economy and support follow-up visits for this purpose
- exchange commercial data and statistics, activate joint research activities and participation in economic events, exhibitions and conferences of each side
- establish and expand a commercial network that facilitates the exchange of business opportunities in both countries and between members of the two chambers
Sharjah is a perfect hub for entrepreneurship at the regional level as it provides an inspiring economic environment for the development of the entrepreneurial sector. The agreement is of crucial importance for the European Women’s Association considering the Emirate creates great business opportunities for the Community and provides outstanding facilities and incentives for EWA members.
